In 1964, a group of seven professionals invested $9,000 to start the Tenley Study Center. They believed in the mission of the center and thought that their investment was worthwhile. Nearly 35 years later, close to 10,000 men have benefited from the programs made available to them as the result of the generosity of these original seven. But they are not alone anymore. This year the Tenley Association has 200 members who regularly contribute to make the programs of Tenley available to any young man who wants to develop his character.

Tenley Study Center has developed six major educational programs over the last six years, and we have plans for more. However, this cannot happen without an equivalent growth of the Tenley Association. Meeting our present needs and making possible our future development are the reasons that this years' membership drive is so important.

There are three things we ask of members:

  • To give financial support to the youth programs.

  • To participate in educational and social activities sponsored by the Association.

  • To make known throughout the community the success Tenley has achieved in the development of youth in the Washington, DC area.

MISSION

The Association's mission is to assure that the Tenley Study Center has adequate funding to carry on its daily operations and to provide partial scholarships.

PROGRAMS

Tenley Study Center offers programs to help young men grow in their character and professional development; to become responsible adults. The Tenley Association sponsors educational lectures and seminars for parents to help them in their educational roles, and social events to facilitate interchange of ideas among concerned parents.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Tenley Association is open to all who support goals of the Tenley Study Center regardless of religious or ethnic background.
